Microsoft launced the VISTA operating system today to businesses. This is a much awaited release of the new OS from Microsoft. Delays in its release affected the stock price of Microsoft earlier this year. This is a release of a new operating system since the last release of Windows XP 5 years earlier.
The most notable reason for upgrading to the new VISTA is its better security features in a networked environment. The security was totally rebuilt with a UNIX like framework. Windows XP lacked that type of security features. Other features include better search ability and will compete with Google desktop.
Businesses that buy Windows OS licenses in bulk like the PC manufacturers and web hosting companies will be able to get the release or upgrade disks now. Regular users won't be able to get hold of Vista until end of January, 2007.
